CARE

The Community Assisted Response and Engagement Department (Seattle CARE Department) is home to the Seattle 9-1-1 Communications Center and the CARE Community Crisis Responder Team.

The Seattle 9-1-1 Communications Center manages approximately 900,000 calls per year and coordinates the dispatch of police officers, fire fighters, Community Crisis Responders, and medical teams for emergency situations, as well as managing non-emergency lines. When you call 9-1-1 in Seattle for an emergency, we are here to help 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, including for callers who need language translation services and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The CARE Community Crisis Responder Team works in close collaboration with Seattle police officers to provide the community diversified responses to public safety and public health incidents in the City of Seattle.
